Boggo's definitely been told he's not playing? i think despite his defeat Evo's place in the squad is so secure he can pencil it into his schedule for sure

i haven't seen any quotes from Lloyd to confirm this. Neil may have inside info or may be just writing whats common knowledge.

It doesn't surprise me that Boggo has not been selected, especially after the manner of his loss yesterday, but I guess it does give him a better chance to try and improve his ranking.
Evans is probably in pole position for the spot at the moment, but not sure he's done a lot to convince that he is the best option, but if we are looking to the future, it might be the answer.
I'm sure John Lloyd is very disappointed with the results, although that may partly be down to the fact he is actually going to have a pick someone for the squad rather than it be an obvious choice that it would have been had someone actually gone on to qualify.
Might be a bit of an outside shout, but given that Lloyd is a known fan of his and that he is coming into some form at the moment, anyone think that Jamie Baker could be in contention for a call up?
Not saying it's the choice I would make at all, but it is something that I could see happening.
EDIT: The way US Open qualies went, it seems that we will need Murray to play to win this tie and will also have to win the doubles rubber.

funny that Lloyd has been quite so far, after the AOQ he commented quite quickly that none of that lot would be in the team (even if he didnt stick to it).
Obviously, well i say that but i don't know for sure, he should have been able to see all the mens matches as i don't think any of them clashed so will be able to tell things we couldn't from just scores. Josh obviously was injured and i have heard Boggo wasn't at 100% either (not shin related though). i wonder if this showing will make him try for another play off? didn't really work last time though.

Chris Eaton is looking like more of a shot, with his good showings in India even better if he could get a title next week. Even if he is such a drop in class below from US Open quals, hes getting matches under his belt at the moment which no other brit seems to be doing. I'd look to at least include Chris in your team, he has that hunger for pressure and the big stage.
Lloyd did say he enjoyed how Eaton looked like a proper Davis Cup player, how he turned up, raring to go at both his matches and of course his standard of play is better at this level.
Just noticed Eaton is playing a future in Nottingham the week of the Davis Cup, does that rule him out i presume then? Or would he be able to pull out if needed?

A little snippet about Evo: "Recently, after winning a tight match in an ATP Challenger event against Brendan Evans, the 6ft 2in American in Lexington, Kentucky, his opponent berated the umpire for costing me the match. In his broad Brummie tones, Evans walked around the net to inform him loudly that 'it was your backhand that cost you the match'. We like the sound of that."

Our mens form is so dire at the moment picking a "good" team is almost impossible. Flemski show the most form, but I dont think Llyod will go there yet. Instead, it seems that Murray must play in and win three matches. I find it hard to see a win anywhere else.
