Rusedski doesn't seem to like Dan Evans much, does he?
Last comment: "after winning the Jersey Challenger he went back to playing futures, we all told him not to ..."
Check the facts before opening your mouth, Greg: of 13 tournaments since Jersey, Dan played 5 ATP events, 6 Challengers and 2 Futures. One of the Futures was immediately after Jersey, so he probably had no time to withdraw.

Well what another load of crap from the Davies cup team. The sooner they get relegated the better. Andy shouldn't play untill they get to a world group play-off and there is at least 1 decent player who can back him up.
Sheesh and i though the mens game was getting better.
I agree. The ray of light is that at least we know that for all Evans attitude he will be another Bogdanovic. Time to turn to Baker, Smeathurst, Rice, Willis or Cox. And yes who can blame Murray if he sits out for a couple of years. It's a waste of his time right now
Rusedski's commentary is abysmal, granted. I'm sure he's a nice guy but his standard of commentary is woeful at best.
I'm not impressed by Dan's game. I'm trying desperately to spot a weapon in his game but... just not there yet. They mentioned the backhand down the line...

Well, He was out hit from point one was Dan. He did fight in the 3rd but he was never coming back after the first set tbh.
Again didnt see any weapons.
1st serve percentage was very poor.
Groundstrokes need more penetration on them.
Volleys looked alright, but he was too nervous to hit them.
He shouldn't have been Great Britains 2nd singles player- Goodall should have played if not there was Ward, Eaton, Boggo if we were that desperate- these i think i have that bit more power and penetration in all their shots over Evans.
Remember this is my opinion though. So i dont mind any criticism.
Also I hope Lloyd hasnt forgot about Eaton- in the last tie- he came in late to the play offs worked through them and gave 2 solid performances, why no Eaton??
It was a big call leaving Dan to play the live 5th rubber, before he was ready for that level of pressure, after an uninspiring debut on Friday, and it wasn't surprising that it backfired (as Sheddie says Colin would have been a better option at this juncture, even though he would probably have lost, as I am sure he would have coped with the pressure better). That should mean the end of John Lloyd as captain, after 3 consecutive home failures against beatable opposition, and a chance for someone (other than Andy) finally to win a live rubber. Frankly at the moment we are better off in Zone 2, rather than relying on Andy to effectively win 3 rubbers.
