RE: Week 31 Futures - GB F11 ($15k) - Ottershaw (Hard)

"Illy won 1st 64. Milton 41 down."

Looks like both Milton and the Wardinator are having a bad time after yesterday's big wins.

Alex is fighting back.  He's taken the second set 6-4 to level the match. wink

Why's that a disbelief, SC, are you an Illy fan?

Shocking scoreline for Josh today doh hope he was just suffering a reaction to yesterday's heroics and Bloomers can see off Brezac tomorrow, I was banking on us getting the semi-finalist from this quarter!

Back on serve in the all-Brit match, i.e. 6-4 6-4 4-3* from Ward's point of view.

"O'Brien won" means that all of the top three seeds have bitten the dust.

Nope, agnostic. wink  That disbelief  icon is supposed to be a head being shaken in disbelief rather than a "no" (which is the no icon), so it was merely a reflection of my disbelief that Alex (I refuse to use that ridiculous "Wardinator" sobriquet!) had actually come from a set down to lead 3-0!

And I see he eventually landed the third set 6-4!  Well done to him. clap.gif  Pity he had to dispose of another Brit in the process.  I hope he manages to take O'Brien's scalp now. pray.gif

James Feaver & Barry King lost by 2 & 3 to the French third seeds. cry    Chris & Jamie will face  them (Brezac & Stouff) in the semi-final.

Josh is going home...  Thanks for all the updates, mate.  You deserve a medal, but you'll have to make do with this:  flowerpot.gif ! wink

Yes, brilliant service again Josh, updates very easy to understand and amazingly frequent!

Twitter is clearly ideal for this kind of thing, cutting out the delays that can occur when you text someone the scores and they then have to post them.

Bit surprised by Milton's defeat and specifically how easy it was, but guess it just didn't happen at all for him today, but Josh will probably be able to tell us why he lost.

Even though Illy lost, he did a lot better than we expected him to so maybe he'll be able to turn his season around as a result of this week.

Fancy Bloomers to win his quarter final, while I have a feeling one of the other Brits will as well... I'd say Morgan has the better chance given the form he is in and that Kadir doesn't look to be ripping through the draw so far.

Dare I say that Eaton could be on the way to being another doubles specialist....

We need to see a shift and hard push to get all these muppets into top 150 before end of year. Otherwise a stale, lingering fart will come to haunt all!

Milton just played a pretty shocking match really.  Nothing went right and he could barely keep a ball in court.  Brezac played well, but nothing amazing, just solid shots until Milton made another error.

Sorry I didn't write anything about yesterday, it was pretty late when I got back and I was quite tired.  I'll write something about today a bit later.  Phillips is looking very good and I wouldn't be surprised if he reached the final, but might have a tough match with O'Brien.  Also it will be interesting to see how Bloomers fares against a little tougher opposition.

Unforunately I won't be able to go any more this week, because we're going away tomorrow, although it does seem as though the LTA are updating pretty soon after the last match finishes.
