RE: Week 31 Challenger - Campos do Jordão ($50k+H) - Brazil

I see Josh is making sure he gets full use out of his Wimbledon whites - probably an excellent idea in that heat, actually!

It's Pics Ferrer of course...and it looks like he's stuffed a tv remote up his shorts! although im guessing it's probably some strapping for an injury

Oh dear, that's a bad one. doh Less surprisingly, Wardy has just lost the 1st set to Chela too cry but now that Josh has lost, James will be the new GB no. 2 next Monday unless Boggo wins Vancouver, which doesn't seem that likely. Will this inspire him to come back against Chela? Almost certainly not. Can he come back against Chela anyway? ...

Wardy lost to Chela 3 & 2, so that's goodbye to our boys in Brazil, for this week at least.

Tut, tut, Steven.  Not quite.  You've forgotten the doubles...! wink

Disappointing to see them both lose in all honesty.

Didn't expect Ward to win but felt he had a chance of taking out Chela, but did hope that Goodall would be able to beat Guez, but obviously not to be... there must be something in Guez's game that causes Goodall problems as he just isn't able to beat him.

Funny you should say that - I almost edited to add "at least in singles" just for you, but couldn't be bothered ...

that's a shame. tennis isn't always about rankings but also match-ups. Guez just doesn't seem to work for Josh.

Josh's thoughts on today's loss -

"lost 6 and 2. served for first set at 6-5 didnt convert. Focus on doubles and onto next week!"

Yeah, well, you're half-way there:  James & Pless lost by 3 & 4 to the second seeds, so Brit interest in Brazil is now hanging by half a doubles thread! cry
