RE: Week 30 - Futures F10 ($15K) - Ilkley, UK

In fact, reaching the Final will take Neil into the top 900 on 10 August, up about 400 places from where he is now, and coincidentally he will dislodge the Wardinator from the GB top 25 as well, though Alex won''t be out of it for long.

It makes you wonder how Eaton was beat, when Pauffers destroyed him. He must have broke the frenchmans serve 4 times at least and on grass, WOW!!

From the LTA site:

'In the doubles, Tim Bradshaw and Dominic Inglot will play the No.1 seeds, Fischer and Chris Eaton, in the semi-final on Friday evening. Josh Milton and Marcus Willis bowed out in the other semi-final'.

Does that mean they lost the SF or gave the 2nd seeds a WO? I'd rather think the former but haven't found a score so far.

Did they play the matches outside today? The weather was certainly good enough. Can't be very good for players to have to change surfaces and move from outdoors to indoors and back again. IMO.wink

Eaton played indoors, Pauffley on grass - that might explain a little

Fantastic for Neil - Good to have a run which is unexpected and I hope it leads to more success in later weeks.

That's a stunning result for Pauffley and makes you wonder what the hell he's been doing all year before putting this run together.

It's not just the win, but it's now easily he got the win as well, and that's two very impressive wins back to back, and with them being on different surfaces, you can't use the surface as a reason to explain it being a fluke.

Fischer may be a step too far for him in the final, but given how well Neil seems to have played this week, he's got a decent chance of beating him I'd guess.

What a week Neil's having! Spot on :D It's alway encouraging when another Brit starts making a name for himself. Let's hope it continues!

No, they played, but lost 1 & 2. cry Chris & Martin won 4 & 4, so it's the top seeds versus the scond seeds in the final. pray.gif for Chris & Martin...

Thanks.smile You'd think the LTA could manage to report the score when they bother to pass on the info that the lads "bowed out"!disbelief Then again, 'tis the Last To Announce...ashamed
