Erm, h, I think you'll find that all that shows are the results of yesterday's matches:  see today's OoP, if you don't believe me. wink

Tom Burn qualified? So that means he took out Willis.

Eaton has the best draw out of all the Brits, should be looking for quarter final or better easily, especially on grass, I'd put him to be one of the faves to win the tournament if he wants it enough.

And this week's Alex Miotto Award for most annoyingly timed comeback goes to...Tom Burn

He beat Marcus 4-6 6-3 6-4

I like Eaton's draw, Fitzy's too is ok

I see the British tour event is also at Ilkley LTC this week. So those who lost in qualifying can play all week anyway which should be good.

I think Cox has the draw to win here

Ghedin is very good on fast surfaces, though. And he beat Cox once - though that was more than 3 years ago, so does not count.

I want him to concentrate on Pauffers first. He had easy (at least relatively easy) draws in the last two tournaments but bottled it.

Lots of rankings upsets, especially in QR2 (it seems crazy that Meatball lost to Burn, though of course Tom did reach a CH of 611 back in 2005 so is a decent player) and 6 qualifiers in the end matched the number of top 8 seeds we had, so not a bad outcome even if it did all go a bit awry at the bottom of the draw. Well done to Fitzy on a good result and the only rankings upset that went our way in the FQR! smile.gif (I'm no doubt about to find out that he's got a rubbish draw when I move onto the main draw sheet ...)

Edit: corrected re wolf's post below, thanks!

Goldenslam will not be happy after his claims last year that El Menshawy would beat Fitzy if they ever met.

PS Angus is not unranked.

L32: (Q) Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1214 v Clement Reix (FRA) WR 724
L32: -no Brit- (5) Jean-Noel Insausti (FRA) WR 433 v Marcus Daniell (NZL) WR 847
L32: (Q) Sean Thornley WR 848 v (3) Michael Koning (NED) WR 310
L32: (Q) Timothy Bradshaw WR 1055 v Charles-Antoine Brezac (FRA) WR 569
L32: (Q) Tom Burn UNR v Sadik Kadir (AUS) WR 539
L32: Matthew Illingworth WR 735 v (6) Ludovic Walter (FRA) WR 552
L32: (8) Chris Eaton WR 530 v Barry King (IRL) WR 749
L32: -no Brit- Enrico Ianuzzi (ITA) WR 795 v (Q) Frederik Sletting-Johnsen (NOR) UNR
L32: Josh Milton WR 541 v (Q) Burnham Arlidge WR 846
L32: -no Brit- (4) Mathieu Rodrigues (FRA) WR 330 v (Q) Baptiste Bayet (FRA) WR 1409
L32: (7) Dan Cox WR 508 v (Q) Neil Pauffley WR 1274
L32: (WC) David Rice WR 684 v Thomas Cazes-Carrere (FRA) WR 589
L32: (WC) Kyle Brassington WR 996 v (WC) George Coupland WR 1590
L32: (WC) Alex Ward WR 932 v (2) Riccardo Ghedin (ITA) WR 223

When spud said all the WCs were together, I hoped he meant in matches 14 and 15 - the draw has worked out a bit rough for the Wardinator! Otherwise not too bad though - our two seeds Cox & Eaton would have to be very unhappy with themselves if they didn't make the QFs and three of the four R1 matches without a Brit in them involve top 5 seeds, which is better than we could have dared hope for, so in many of the other matches (including Fitzy's), the outranked Brits should at least have a fighting chance if they play well. smile.gif

Yes, but of course, he has proper credentials, so I'm surely this was a freak of the nature...
