RE: Week 30 - Futures F10 ($15K) - Ilkley, UK

Erm...No! I seem to remember I played a lot of dutch guys who used to come over for a holiday, enter a load of tournaments, and camp on the fields close to the Club.

I do remember playing my semi final on a court next to jamie Delgado (this was late 90's) and I framed a smash so badly it bounced on his court just when he was putting a volley away. his point had to replayed and i was suprised he didn't get a point penalty for the verbal that came my way!!

I did ball boy there when i was much younger. 2 quite well known british tennis players of the late 80's/early 90's played in the final. Both had come on quite big appearance money, both reached the final and I saw them toss a coin in the changing rooms beforehand to see who would win the match 7-6 7-6.

And guess what..Score in the final 7-6 7-6

Naming them would probably be libellous though!

a Grade 3 junior event? could be some decent guys playing there then

That means a Grade 3 national event, not an ITF event. There are no Grade 2 or 3 ITF events in this country.
