The top 2 seeds left in the draw surely an all brit final - we need it.

borrowing from GBTG

Katie O'BRIEN (GBR) (1) defeated Rebeca BOU-NOGUEIRO (ESP) 6-1 6-3
Justine OZGA (GER) (5) defeated Sara DEL BARRIO-ARAGON (ESP) 6-3 6-0
Georgie STOOP (GBR) (3) defeated Beatriz GARCIA-VIDAGANY (ESP) 6-4 6-2
Eirini GEORGATOU (GRE) (6) defeated Sally PEERS (AUS) 6-0 7-5

So all is well in the garden

Good results, and I reckon Katie should win her semi if she plays anywhere near her best (that's a big if mind you). Georgie's chances of a first final of the year are more open to question I think - her Greek opponent has won a lot of matches this year, and claimed a 25K title on hardcourts.

Better but the semi's will be tougher.

Just checked ITF:

Semi Finals

Katie won 6-4 6-4 smile
Georgie won 6-1 6-2 biggrin

Our prayers for an all-Brit final were answered!

So much better especially Stoopy a pity there has to be a loser.

Impressive scoreline from Georgie, and much-needed points to help her battle to stay in the top 200.

Doubles Final:

(1) KOSINSKA (POL) / THORPE (FRA) defeated (3) CURTIS (GBR) / STOOP (GBR) 7-6(3) 6-2

Katie has done very well when stepping down to 25K level this year, four finals from four events, and she will be going for her third title tomorrow, and I hope she wins (sorry Georgie) as she continues her push for the top 100, which I think she can do as long as she wins at least one match at US Open Q and has a few good runs elsewhere.

I might have to come out of retirement tomorrow and write an article on the homepage about this, I probably owe it to the population of Bradford at least!!

Katie will be 103 if she wins and 104 if she loses.

But the gaps are pretty big around that mark, it's almost as if they're teasing her.

Bradford? She's an East Riding girl. ;)
