Jonny Marray has given further evidence he is looking to specialise in doubles (we are getting a lot of these type of players, aren't we Steven? )* as he turns up here with Riccardo Ghedin (ITA) and they face Enrico Iannuzzi & Jean-Noel Insausti (ITA/FRA) in the first round.
* In Jonny's defence though he is 28 and his singles career is going nowhere, so why not?
Dimitrov, who'll surely win at least 20 Slams in the next few years (unless Marko Djokovic can stop him) lost to Nikola Mektic [545] by 4 and 2. Time to give him some main draw wild cards at the hard court Masters, what do you think?
Excellent Notes for Grigor Dimitrov at School 01 Jul 2009 Grigor Dimitrov passed successfully all his exams at the secondary school that he attends in his hometown of Haskovo in South-eastern Bulgaria. With overall score of `Excellent 5.90` Grigor finished his penultimate school-year. The notes at schools in Bulgaria are from `Bad 2.00` to `Excellent 6.00`. Next September he will start at 12th grade - the last year at the lyceum with tuition of Sports Management. After his last exam of the school year Dimitrov left for Paris where he will restore his injury.

Don't you know, those two are the new Federer and Nadal?

You wouldn't be suggesting that Grigor Dimitrov is Bulgarian for Donald Young, would you?

Jonny & Riccardo beat Ianuzzi & Insausti by 3 & 3. They play the top seeds, our old friends, George Bastl & Sergiy Stakhovsky (SUI/UKR), in (I presume - no sign of the OoP! The Guzzini people seem to be even worse than the LTA when it comes to keeping things up to date on their own or the ATP site! ) today's QFs. Winnable, I'd have thought...

They've got their @rses in gear to the extent of posting today'S OoP on the tournament site (such as it is! ) in HTML format. It's impossible to tell from it, however, whether more than one court will be used (centre + court 3, as yesterday), but it doesn't make any sense if they aren't: the list shows Jonny & Riccardo sandwiched between the third of three of the outstanding four L16 singles matches, the first of which kicks off at 17.00 BST, while the remaining singles match is scheduled to start at 20.00 BST... It's also impossible to tell what happened in two of the three doubles QFs which were supposed to have been played yesterday (only the outcome of the Galvani/Gorci vs Bracciali/Vico encounter is shown)! And we complain about the LTA...

And winnable it was - & arguably the icing on the cake for yesterday (Friday), methinks: 6-3 3-6 [10-5]! They will face the third seeds, Freddie Nielsen & Joe Sirianni (DEN/AUS), in today's (Saturday's) semi-final.

SC have you lost a day? I'm writing this in the early hours of Friday!

Whoops, so I have! Obviously wishful thinking on my part! That said, Jonny & Riccardo are still down to play in the semis today (Friday)...
