I hope Boggo's shins are holding up. I'm not so worried about him choking when he loses a one set lead these days, at least not in Challengers, but if his shins are still dodgy and that's why he lost the 2nd set, it could all go horribly wrong from here.
Nice win by Evo

L32: Dan Evans WR 274 beat (WC) Jordan Cox (USA) WR 1154 L32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 220 beat Yuichi Sugita (JPN) WR 262
L16: Dan Evans WR 274 v (1) Brendan Evans (USA) WR 133 or (WC) Ryan Harrison (USA) WR 683 L16: Alex Bogdanovic WR 220 v Ryler de Heart (USA) WR 204
American Evans won the Nottingham Challenger just before Wimbledon, beating Colin Fleming on the way but lost to Luka Gregorc in Wimbledon QR2 16-14 in the final set so didn't make the main draw there. Boggo beat him 1 & 4 in Vancouver last year, but their fortunes have gone in opposite directions since and in fact he has lost to Brits 5 of the last 7 times he has played them, Boggo, Josh, Baker, the Skupster and Bloomers all having beaten him in the last couple of years. The two Evos have not met before.
De Heart won the Yuba City Challenger in May and has since reached the Final of Ireland F2 and the semis of the Winnetka Challenger, beating some decent players on the way. He also has a better record against Brits than Evans does. However, Boggo recovered from a set down to beat de Heart in Roland Garros qualifying 4-6 7-5 6-3 this year while this will be a tough match, I'm sure he will be pleased to be facing him instead of the Gooch!

nice to see boggo win some close matches recently. great chance for dan to impose and make a name for himself in the US. good chance at a 1/4 for boggo if his injury is ok. they both get a rest from singles today but start their doubles assault 4th on court 3.

delighted to see that alex got a win here. i thought he was going to attempt to play the match and see how it went so i guess he must have felt ok, esp after going to a 3rd.
I am not sure playing dubs is the best move tho, a day off may have been better, but maybe it will give him a chance to see how he feels in a less pressured match. could he pull out of the dubs and still play in the singles next day?
RdH would certainly be a winnable match in normal circumstances and it would be great for alex to get some momentum going, but he is down to play granby, vanc, binghampton after this so i think making sure he stays fit is more important right now.
Good win by Evo too, and hopefully he can go out and really test Evans, nothing to lose here for him.
