Great win for Evans and a very good chance of him being able to win another challenger title here.

Looks like there was a bit of aggro in the all-Evans match yesterday.

Boggo isn't coached by Nick Weal, is he?

Boggo might just be getting some help from Weal as he's there

Lol i would have loved to have seen the aggro at the Evans match

If & when it's confirmed that Evo beat Im, that means that he will play the "American" qualifier, Alex Kuznetsov, in tomorrow's SF... pray.gif

Wow, a Brit who not only creates his own opening in the draw (by beating the top seed), but then goes and his chance in the next round too! smile.gif

QF: Alex Bogdanovic WR 220 lost to (7) Marinko Matosevic (AUS) WR 199 by 6-4 2-1 ret. cry
QF: Dan Evans WR 274 beat (8) Kyu-Tae Im (KOR) WR 208 by 2 & 4 biggrin

Dan's win today should see him in the top 250 on Monday biggrin

SF: Dan Evans WR 274 v (Q) Alex Kuznetsov (USA) WR 248 (CH: 158 in 2007)

Kuznetsov was a 'ringer' in qualifying, i.e. he would have got direct entry if he had entered by the original deadline. He has now won five matches this week without dropping a set, the most impressive being his defeat of no. 3 seed Kevin Anderson in R1, though that's no better than Evo's R2 win against the no. 1 seed.

The American won the Winnetka Challenger earlier this month but went out in R2 to Devvarman in Aptos last week, which is probably why he decided to play qualifying here. Josh beat him in Rimouski last November, the first time Kuznetsov had faced a Brit since beating Bloomers in 2007, and overall his record against Brits is won 3 (Bloomers, May, Mozart) lost 4 (Josh, Boggo, Aucks, Lewis)

Boggo is coached by Weal, he is the coach the LTA provide currently.

Its the same injury for Boggo and he is out of Granby. i think he will be getting some xrays done to confirm there is no fracture.

Good work by Evans, good chance to make the final here.
