Girls: AEGON Scottish Junior International Wk 2, Edinburgh - Grade 4 (Week 28)

As with the Boys there is a slightly stronger field for the Grade 4 than last week, including Jo Henderson as second seed, while fourth seed Fran Stephenson aims to emulate Sam Vickers, who won both singles titles here last year. All 16 in the bottom half of the draw are British, so one finalist is guaranteed.

Taro Keens maintained her good form from last week, being the only player to account for a seed in round 1 - though there were scares for Catlin Hindmarsh and Hannah Martin-Merchant. There will be no repeat doubles title this week for Fran and Caitlin, who lost in the first round to Amy Askew and Hope Johnson

So a repeat final from last week. Fran has stepped up a gear recently, with all her best 6 (counting ) tournaments being in the last 3 months.

Can anyone explain how Fran has come on so much - I saw her about 6 months ago and she was still very short and although she attacked nicely and was happy to take risks on court I was concerned that she wasn't very athletic.

Whatever Fran has done, it is working and she will move well inside the top 300
