Laura Peterzan

I was browsing the web when I came across an article on her. I'm not sure if everyone will remember Laura, but she was a fairly promising prospect back in 2005/2006 - she won a 10K soon after she turned 17 - but she prioritised her education and went off to study at Harvard in the States. Anyway, she has/will be graduating this summer and here is a recent interview with her on her Harvard experiences:

I wonder if she will play any ITF events or if that part of her life if over.

Laura seemed to be the more talented of the two (her sister Claire gave it a go for longer, and reached around 400, but Laura had more impressive results at a younger age) but only a small percentage of those attending American universities return to play ITF events, and I don't see Laura, with the earning power of a Harvard graduate, being tempted.

True it is highly unlikely since she has probably already been snapped up into a high powered career, but part of my still hopes that she plays a tournament or two just for fun for old times sake as she did seem to have the potential to break into the top 300+

I remember watching Laura play in the 10k in wrexham which she won. I really liked her game, she could hit the ball quite big but not massive. Saw her take Mel South apart by rallying with Mel and then out manovering her with a great backhand down the line.

Would be good to see both Peterzan sisters back, i realy enjoyed watching them play, they gave their all during matches.
