L32: Morgan Phillips WR 850 v (Q) Jacopo Marchegiani (ITA) WR 1431
A good R1 draw against a player who lost to Tim Hewitt in his only previous match against a Brit but yes, you've guessed it, the winner is likely to play the no. 1 seed in R2.

At last, at the end of the day, a win against a non-Brit! (deduced from tomorrow's OoP since there are no results yet)
L32: Morgan Phillips WR 848 beat (Q) Jacopo Marchegiani (ITA) WR 1417 by tbc
L16: Morgan Phillips WR 848 v (1) Matteo Marrai (ITA) WR 347
Marrai was beaten 4 & 4 by Slabba in the New Caledonia Challenger in January but beat Jamie Baker back in 2005 and is very consistent at going deep (semis and beyond) in Futures.

Singles win confirmed, 1-6 6-4 6-2, but interestingly, he & his Italian partner, Sandro Accardo, have given their QF opponents a walkover in the doubles!
Morgan just needs a couple of good weeks so he can get that ranking up to where it should be, as he's definately a top 400 player, but obviously the injury has cost him a lot of time and probably means that he'll never make it as high as he could have done.
Before the first injury he had just thrashed Andujar, who went on to make the top 100, and is still around the fringes of it, if not inside it still, so perhaps it's not too unrealistic to say he could have been inside the top 200.
LOL given the tournament poster at http://www.tenniscarpi.it/FuturesItaly09/Presentazione.html, I think the organisers got there before you! Actually, I'll put an image link to it here, since it's their advertising, I can't imagine them objecting to it being visible here, especially when there's a link to their site too.
P.S. it's not anywhere near the coast and the name Carpi comes from the name of a tree, so they must be playing on the pun!
