R1 results round-up with new 13 July rankings - Beck had the 3rd biggest net points gain on Monday, while Ilhan & Boggo were two of the biggest points losers, so there are some quite big changes.
Monday
L32: Dan Evans WR 289 beat (Q) Jonny Marray WR 506 by 2 & 3 L32: (WC) Dan Smethurst WR 813 lost to (7) Lukas Lacko (SVK) WR 171 by 4 & 4 L32: (WC) Ashley Hewitt WR 1766 lost to Pierre-Ludovic Duclos WR 260 by 2 & 0
Tuesday
L32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 241 beat Robert Smeets (AUS) WR 371 by 6-4 7-6(4) L32: (WC) Colin Fleming WR 462 lost to (3) Karol Beck (SVK) WR 101 by 6-4 4-6 6-2 L32: Josh Goodall WR 184 beat (Q) Andrew Anderson (RSA) WR 969 by 4 & 4 L32: (WC) Dan Cox WR 478 lost to (4) Nicolas Mahut (FRA) WR 133 by 4 & 5 L32: Chris Eaton WR 519 lost to (5) Prakash Amritraj (IND) WR 254 by 4-6 6-3 6-4
All matches involving Brits went with the rankings. Colin did very well to push WR 101 that close. I wish he could get some better draws and start racking up some singles points though - he's likely to be GB no. 6 before he's even been back for a full year, yet with every week he fails to pick up more points, the easier I imagine it might be for Ken to convince him to ditch singles altogether, which would be a terrible waste in my opinion.
Wednesday c. 13.30 BST (2nd on centre)
L16: Josh Goodall WR 184 v (3) Karol Beck (SVK) WR 101 (CH: 36, 2005 before positive test for drugs in DC SFs) (H2H: 0-1, QFs here last year)
Thursday
L16: Alex Bogdanovic WR 241 v Alexander Peya (AUT) WR 225 (H2H: 0-3) L16: Dan Evans WR 289 v (6) Marsel Ilhan (TUR) WR 250 (H2H: 0-0 but Ilhan has beaten Goodall & Cox in 2008/9)
We can only hope the pattern of recent H2Hs being overturned in R1 continues into R2!

Any news on the doubles front? Summat strange is happening 'cos tomorrow the two Dans are playing Fischer & Nielsen. Have the top-seeded Ukrainians pulled out? Did the Dans played today? They should have taken on the pair from the Netherlands, Koning & Sijsling.
I share your confusion! No sign of any doubles results on the LTA site, but yours seems a reasonable assumption: Bubka & Stakh both lost in the singles today (though I'd've had neither of them pegged as a "chicken-runner"), while Koning & Sijsling both won their singles matches yesterday! Curiouser & curiouser...
Looks like Goodall and Ward could both be seeded (Ward is just outside a seeding spot), while Boggo appears to be the last man on the list, so there's not going to be too many easy draws for him.
Perhaps he should have gone for Washington qualies where he would have been 4th alternate, where he'd be almost certain to get in you'd imagine, and he did say he was going to try more ATP qualies.
Evans though does appear on the alternate list in Washington and is 9th alternate. Given how quickly these qualy lists usually drop, I'd imagine he would manage to make the cut, and it will be interesting to see how he fares here.
I assume he's only going to risk ATP Q's in the autumn when he's got no points to defend. I realise that in the big scheme of things it doesn't really make any difference whether he plays Challengers now then ATP Qs or the other way round, but I imagine psychologically it's better going into higher level events when you feel you've got nothing to lose that week.

i am sure points based decision came into it but also strength of the fields. i think they feel that the US ATP's would be pretty tough.
i am pleased he has been managing to get in as DA's to these 4 events at least, so some chances to pick up points with a good week or 2. that really only leaves 1 more week of challengers b4 the USO, with either Binghamton or one in Brazil (i assume he'll enter both as Bing will probably have a low cut). Bronx CH looks to have been cancelled.
Post USO the calendar is not very interesting. a few indoor events but several weeks purely with clay events again!
i wonder if there has been a shift this year to even more clay events than last year? it is starting to feel that way. Over 3 weeks in Sept there is 1 outdoor hard challenger in Oklahoma and 11 clay events spread over Europe and South America.
The 1st indoor challenger is Mons on 5th of Oct.

Anyway, the combo draw has been updated and Evans & Smethurst won 6-3, 5-7, 17-15 while Bubka & Stakhovsky lost by w/o.
At the time of going to press, so to speak, neither of the sites you mention were showing any results. In fact, the ATP site is still not showing any updated results.
Try this one Helki. Its the combo draw available in the same place as the doubles draw on the ATP site. For some reason it has been updated over the other one.
