are they so different ?

Unsurprisingly, Mahut beat Lacko 63 64 to make semis.

Mahut is my pick for the title, watching him at Queens it was hard to believe he wasn't top 100

Mahut's biggest problem is that on the slower surfaces he doesn't have the game to pick up any points, and even on hard courts he struggles against decent returners.

He should be top 100, but no higher really than 75-80 given his overall game rather than just his game on grass.

QF round-up:

Alex Bogdanovic beat (6) Marsel Ilhan (TUR) 4-6 7-6(5) 6-4 biggrin

Igor Sijsling (NED) beat Karol Beck (SVK) 4 & 4

(4) Nicolas Mahut (FRA) beat (7) Lukas Lacko (SVK) 3 & 4

(2) Olivier Rochus (BEL, but still GBR according to Aunty! disbelief ) beat Martin Fischer (AUT) 4 & 2

so,

SF:  Boggo vs Sijsling

No doubt steven will supply the relevant current rankings in due course. wink

Well done, Alex.

A lot closer than we'd have liked that Boggo result to be, but at least he got the win and he seems to be improving in these tight matches which is good news at least.

Beck losing to Sijsling as well is great news as it gives Boggo a great shot of making the final given that Sijsling hasn't done much all year. Only factor against Boggo could be fatigue having played a long match yesterday and today, but still, excellent chance to reach his first final of the season.
