Beck shouldn't be a problem for long tbh. He moved to 101 by winning a challenger last week. He should be back in the top 100 and playing ATPs again before long

Correction:  the third set went to a tie-break, which Goodall lost 5-7.

ah - I forgot about defending points.

I think the general thrust of my post still rings true though

Horrible way for the match to end for Josh, but that's just the way final set tiebreaks can go if the opponent can just hit one good shot.

Still, he took Beck all the way which is encouraging, but disappointing that he couldn't finish the match off at the very end. I think Beck has a good chance of winning this event anyway, so it probably was expected Josh would lose to him.

He should be picking up plenty of points in Brazil soon, but winning this match would have given him a huge confidence boost.

Thank goodness for that! Wish they wouldn't rely on a MTB, though.wink

          Col & Ken won 6-3 1-6 [10-5].

I think you'll find that was the score in the match they won, with the scoring reversed. They lost today 7-6(4) 1-6 [5-10].ashamed
