Mugabe got most of his points by reaching the SFs of Gabon F1 last year. He also reached the QFs of Burundi F1 and won a main draw match at South Africa F2, Uganda F1 and Rwanda F1.

Unless another 15-year-old wins a Futures main draw match this week or a Challenger/ATP main draw match next week, GB will definitely have the two youngest players with ATP rankings in the world on Monday week and half of the players who have gained their first ranking point this year when still 15.
The four youngest ranked players, all of whom gained their ranking points in home Futures (gaining a first ranking point this young obviously requires a fair bit of luck with the draw, but is still a huge achievement), will be:
Liam Broady (GBR) - dob 4 Jan 1994, first ranked 20 Jul 2009 (when aged 15 y 6 m)
Gained first ranking point in GBR F8 by beating 18-year-old Duncan Mugabe (UGA) WR 864.
Oliver Golding (GBR) - dob 29 Sep 1993, first ranked 25 May 2009 (when aged 15 y 7 m)
Gained first ranking point in GBR F7 by beating 17-year-old Richard Gabb (GBR) UNR.
Dimitar Kuzmanov (BUL) - dob 28 Jul 1993, first ranked 8 Jun 2009 (when aged 15 y 10 m)
Gained first ranking point in BUL F3 by beating 19-year-old Ilija Martinoski (MKD) WR 832 at the time when the Macedonian retired during the 2nd set.
Denis Yevseyev (KAZ) - dob 22 May 1993, first ranked 23 Mar 2009 (when aged 15 y 10 m)
Gained first ranking point in KAZ F2 by beating Dinmukhammed Yessenkulov (KAZ) UNR, who had just turned 16 himself.

Also, the Brits both made it through qualifying first, which makes it a much bigger achievement than Kuzmanov and Yevseyev, who both received wildcards.
Yes, that's true. Oliver beat Mugabe on his way to his first point too so let's hope the Ugandan keeps coming to GB Futures! Actually, Liam lost to him 4 & 2 in Edinburgh, so that's a nice turnaround in just a couple of months too.

Great to see Liam get into the ranking lists and he did look to be a good prospect at Eastbourne but just found that Spadea was hitting the ball too hard for him to control his shots at times, and to be ranked at a young age gives hope for the future.
Well done to Chaudry for getting on the ranking board as well, and another good for win Hewitt, so looks to have found a great run of form at the moment.
And of course there is the usual first round win for Milton and he's got a good chance of reaching the QF's and possibly beyond here, because Smeets is not the best player in the world...
Hopefully someone can join Milton in winning round two, with perhaps Willis or Ward having the best chance to do so.

... as evidenced by today's first men's result:
Kaden Hensel (Aus) bt Robert Smeets (Aus) 6-3 3-6 6-4

Milton and especially the Wardinator got very close, and looking at how close the set scores are, it seems crazy that we didn't get at least one playe through, but I'm afraid it ended up as a complete wipeout
Martin Fischer (Aut) bt David Rice (Gbr) 6-3 6-4 Andoni Vivanco-Guzman (Spa) bt Alexander Ward (Gbr) 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 Javier Marti (Spa) bt Liam Broady (Gbr) 7-6 (7-2) 7-5 Alexander Sadecky (Swi) bt Ashley Hewitt (Gbr) 6-4 6-4 Greg Jones (Aus) bt Marcus Willis (Gbr) 6-4 6-4 Adam Hubble (Aus) bt Joshua Milton (Gbr) 7-5 5-7 6-2
No result for Chaudry v Paire yet.

If any of you were actually putting your own money or reputation on those matches would you have staked anything on anyone other than Milton and possibly a small amount on Willis to spring a suprise?
Are we really EXPECTING Broady, Hewitt and Chaudry to be beating men raked 1000-1500 places above them?
I'm personally quite encouraged that every one gave a good account of themselves (judging by the scorelines) and weren't completely embarrassed like in most UK futures tournaments.
Well done lads
