Liam plays 17 year old Marti next, he beat LL Niall Angus. I think Ashley Hewitt has a chance against Sadecky judging by the way they both played today, AWard could beat V-guzman too
L32: Dan Smethurst WR 825 lost to (1) Martin Fischer (AUT) WR 219 by 1 & 5 L32: David Rice WR 812 beat Dan Cox WR 496 by 7-6(6) 6-7(5) 6-3 L32: Alexander Ward WR 971 beat Matthew Illingworth WR 691 by 5 & 5 L32: (WC) Neil Pauffley WR 1323 lost to (6) Andoni Vivanco-Guzman (ESP) WR 490 by 3 & 2 L32: (LL) Niall Angus WR 1859 lost to Javier Marti (ESP) WR 723 by 3 & 4 L32: (Q) Liam Broady UNR beat Duncan Mugabe (UGA) WR 869 by 2 & 3 L32: (WC) Ashley Hewitt WR 1776 beat (Q) Tom Burn UNR by 1 & 3 L32: (Q) Ben Pritchard WR 1405 lost to (8) Alexander Sadecky (SUI) WR 467 by 7-6(2) 7-6(12) L32: (Q) Ashley Watling WR 1342 lost to (7) Benoit Paire (FRA) WR 548 by 2 & 3 L32: (WC) James Chaudry UNR beat Sean Thornley WR 888 by 3 & 5 L32: Marcus Willis WR 722 beat (WC) Oliver Golding WR 1806 by 7-6(2) 6-4 L32: Burnham Arlidge WR 861 lost to (3) Greg Jones (AUS) WR 348 by 3 & 4 L32: (Q) Josh Milton WR 659 beat (5) Ignacio Coll-Riudavets (ESP) WR 428 by 4 & 4 L32: (Q) Timothy Bradshaw WR 1078 lost to Adam Hubble (AUS) WR 824 by 6-2 5-7 6-4 L32: (Q) George Coupland WR 1638 lost to (2) Robert Smeets (AUS) WR 363 by 1 & 4
The highlight of the day has to be Josh Wilton's great win over Nacho Coll, Rafa's pre Wimby Final practice partner last year, while I didn't expect to see Fed's pre Wimby Final practice partner this year lost to Dr No, though it was a very close match.
I half-expected the Wardinator to upset Matt and Liam to beat Mugabe (though still an excellent win for Liam, who looked quite decent when I saw him and his doubles partner narrowly go down to the no. 1 seeds at Junior Wimbledon), but I certainly didn't expect James Chaudry to beat Thornley, that's quite a scalp for him!
Well done to Ben too for taking Sadecky to two tiebreaks - such a pity he didn't manage to edge the second one!
ROUND 2 DRAW
L16: David Rice WR 812 v (1) Martin Fischer (AUT) WR 219 L16: Alexander Ward WR 971 v (6) Andoni Vivanco-Guzman (ESP) WR 490 L16: (Q) Liam Broady UNR v Javier Marti (ESP) WR 723 L16: (WC) Ashley Hewitt WR 1776 v (8) Alexander Sadecky (SUI) WR 467 L16: (WC) James Chaudry UNR v (7) Benoit Paire (FRA) WR 548 L16: Marcus Willis WR 722 v (3) Greg Jones (AUS) WR 348 L16: (Q) Josh Milton WR 659 v Adam Hubble (AUS) WR 824 - winner to play (2) Robert Smeets (AUS) WR 363 or Kaden Hensel (AUS) WR 670
All but one of the R2 matches involve Brits, but only Josh Milton is the higher-ranked player in his match and only Meatball is ranked less than 400 places below his opponent, and even then only just. I wonder if any of them will manage to pull off a big upset tomorrow ...

Would Broady be the youngest in GB to hold an ATP point or the youngest ATP ranked player in the world?
Certainly the former and probably the latter. When Olly gained his point his local paper ran a story claiming he was the youngest player ever to be gain an ATP ranking. This is false (Rafa for example was in the top 1000 by Olly's age, and Liam's current age of 15 yrs 6mths). However I have checked the most likely 1994 births, and none of those has a ranking point, so I guess he will be the youngest in the world currently.

Historically, it's not exceptional - since the turn of the century, three players (Rafa, Dammit and, last year, Ryan Harrison) have won a main draw match in a main tour event before their 16th birthday, but at the end of last year, there was only one 15-year-old in the rankings (Ciprian Alexandru Porumb of Romania WR 1665), so Liam may well be the youngest player in the rankings at the moment.
