at least one of them will get a point for sure

Rubbish draw for Coxy - and that's unlucky since he missed seeding by only one place. But he beat Fischer once, so let's see.... Rice may not be easy since they know each other's games very well.

Broady has a half chance of getting a point.

MAIN DRAW

With new (6 July) rankings.

*L32: Dan Smethurst WR 825 v (1) Martin Fischer (AUT) WR 219
*L32: Dan Cox WR 496 v David Rice WR 812
*L32: Matthew Illingworth WR 691 v Alexander Ward WR 971
*L32: (WC) Neil Pauffley WR 1323 v (6) Andoni Vivanco-Guzman (ESP) WR 490
L32: (4) Alex Slabinsky WR 374 v Javier Marti (ESP) WR 723
L32: (Q) Liam Broady UNR v Duncan Mugabe (UGA) WR 869
L32: (WC) Ashley Hewitt WR 1776 v (Q) Tom Burn UNR
L32: (Q) Ben Pritchard WR 1405 v (8) Alexander Sadecky (SUI) WR 467
*L32: (Q) Ashley Watling WR 1342 v (7) Benoit Paire (FRA) WR 548
*L32: Sean Thornley WR 888 v (WC) James Chaudry UNR
*L32: Marcus Willis WR 722 v (WC) Oliver Golding WR 1806
*L32: Burnham Arlidge WR 861 v (3) Greg Jones (AUS) WR 348
L32: (Q) Josh Milton WR 659 v (5) Ignacio Coll-Riudavets (ESP) WR 428
L32: (Q) Timothy Bradshaw WR 1078 v Adam Hubble (AUS) WR 824
*L32: (Q) George Coupland WR 1638 v (2) Robert Smeets (AUS) WR 363 - winner to play Kaden Hensel (AUS) WR 670 or (Q) Joss Espasandin (SUI) WR 1776

I can't remember the last time we had 20 Brits in the main draw for a Future, but unfortunately only one of the seeds. 15 of the 16 R1 matches involve at least one Brit with 5 involving two, but the home player is lower-ranked than their opponent in 9 of the other 10.

* = due to be played today

Mugabe is a good player but is fairly 'lightweight' and watched him beaten by Pritchard in edinburgh. He has lost to Arlidge and Golding recently. But Duncan beat him 4 & 2 in May. Hope he will learn from that.

I'm surprised they've got any matches played today if the weather is anything like it is here!
