Ugh, this is so depressing. Prior for a double hundred!

we might as well go out after lunch and just try slogging it, try and get a quick few runs b4 getting all out, better than hanging around getting no runs and getting out slowly. better to allow us to also have a go at the Aussies on what is obviously a strong bowlers pitch.

this is going to get embarrassing. i'm listening to the commentary and they are going ballistic at England's bowling, putting so much short. onions went for 10 of his 1st two balls! that was 10% of our total.

And with that session this morning, it could well mean that Australia have retained the Ashes.

Terrible day so far for England as the batting was very poor, and the bowling hasn't been much better.

It's quite obvious that you need to pitch the ball up, so why England decided to bang in it is just unfathomable.

Barring a miracle, Australia will win this test match and set it all up for a nice finale at the Oval.

i think the team will be:

strauss, cook, beell, trott, collingwood, prior, fred, anderson, swann, onions, broad

about as boring as possible as far as changes are concerned but Strauss is so conservative it's what i expect

i herd some rumours pietersen might be rushed back...

Team for The Oval (talk about a dry hard pitch)

Strauss
Cook
Ramprakash (Best batsmen in England)
Bell
Collingwood
Prior
Flintoff
Harmison or Sidebottom
Swann
Anderson
Panesar or Adil Rashid

Getting rid of:
Bopara
Broad
Onions

Drop Bell for the man in the squad last time. Trott.

Demote Bopara to 5.

Ramps is as mentally unstable as Bell or Bopara and so won't solve the prblem. Plus the whole story is a non-entity. A reporter said will you be considering Ramprakash and the head selector said we're not ruling anybody out. The question could have been, "are you considering Mickey Mouse?"

Broad has finally hit some form so if we're staying with him for 4 tests it should be 5. Onions is doing what was always required from him - going for shedloads in some sessions and taking bundles in others.

Problem at Headinlgey was Jimmy not performing and the need to think Harmison is our best reserve.
