I assume this means that Rice has sneaked into the main draw.

QR1: Saad Abbas UNR lost to Christian Prendiville (AUS) UNR by 6-0 7-6(5) cry
QR1: Dominic Ross-Hurst UNR beat Khai Hong Tham (KOR) UNR by 1 & 0 smile

QR2: (3) Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1234 v Christian Prendiville (AUS) UNR
QR2: Dominic Ross-Hurst UNR v Zaki al Abdullh (KSA) UNR

In his first senior match just over a year ago, al Abdullh was double-bagelled by the Skupster. He has been fed bakery products in 11 of the 23 sets he has played, though he thrashed a Malaysian 15-year-old playing his first senior match (having never played a junior ITF) 1 & 1 in QR1.

Prendiville has yet to beat a ranked player - hopefully he won't start today!

FQR: (3) Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1234 v Matthew Asciak (MLT) UNR
FQR: Dominic Ross-Hurst UNR v Jonathan Wong (USA) UNR

Asciak has qualified for main draws before, so won't be as easy as his unranked status suggests. Wong's only previous win before this week was a 6-0 ret. against (coincidentally given where Fitzy's opponent comes from) a Maltese player.

L32: David Rice WR 873 v (1) Matthew Ebden (AUS) WR 323
L32: Jamie Baker WR 840 v Qualifier

Unfortunately my concern about Asciak proved to be correct but Dominic has qualified for a Future for the first time since Nottingham last September.

FQR: (3) Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1234 lost to Matthew Asciak (MLT) UNR by 4-6 6-4 6-4 bleh
FQR: Dominic Ross-Hurst UNR beat Jonathan Wong (USA) UNR by 4 & 3 smile

Asciak has qualified for main draws before, so won't be as easy as his unranked status suggests. Wong's only previous win before this week was a 6-0 ret. against (coincidentally given where Fitzy's opponent comes from) a Maltese player.

L32: David Rice WR 873 v (1) Matthew Ebden (AUS) WR 323
L32: (Q) Dominic Ross-Hurst UNR v Steven Goh (AUS) WR 872
L32: Jamie Baker WR 840 v (Q) Matheson Klein (AUS) WR 1201

A bit of a mini Ashes series here! wink (and I can't see us winning this one either cry)
