RE: Weeks 25-26 - Wimbledon Mixed Doubles

Good wins for Auckland/Baltacha and Fleming/Borwell over decent opponents, but a shame for Ross and Anne to lose.

Hopefully at least one of the four teams in round two can cause the upset and reach the next round.

Auckland/Baltacha 3rd on court 5
Skupski/O'Brien 4th on court 14
Fleming/Borwell TBA
Murray/Huber TBA

Courts 18 and 4 look like they could be finished the quickest so they may end up on one of these courts.

Bit disappointing that scoreline but Nestor and Vesnina are a very good pairing and have a good chance of claiming the title.

Think one of the other pairs has a better chance of getting to the next round though, so there's still hope to keep British interest going.

Murray/Huber to begin on court 2 at 7pm.

Fleming/Borwell to begin on court 4 at 7pm (although curiously the Paes/Black vs. Mertinak/Santangelo match scheduled for that court hasn't been played, a walkover hasn't been given according to the website, while none of them have played already today)

Skupski/O'Brien are 5-3 down.

Skupski/O'Brien just wasted 3 set point at 4-5 in the second set.

Skupski/O'Brien lost the first set 6-4 and went down a break in the second but have recovered to 4-6 5*-5. They had 3 set points on the Sa serve, which were saved by good play.

Evidence of lack of understanding within the partnership, as Ken tries to do too much, and Katie is broken, but they break back to 15 to reach a tiebreak

Sa/Sugiyama broke for 6-5, but they've been broken back so now a tiebreak.

Murray/Huber lead 4-3*

Fleming/Borwell down *4-5

Ken throws in a double at 4-4 in the tiebreak and Sa serves out for a 6-4 7-6(4) win

Correction:  it was actually 6-3 7-6(4)

Bad time for Ken to throw in that double fault...decent effort from them considering they've not really played together but their inexperience showed at times and perhaps should have won that second set.

Looks like Murray and Fleming's matches both heading into tiebreaks.
