Yes, I have bit similat thoughts re Gulbis as FD if maybe a bit more worried. Yes, he's off form but he has proven abilities to at least realy push the very best. He will surely be up for it and if it all clicks.....hmm. Andy might be glad it's 5 sets although I really hope, and in truth expect, that it won't come near coming down to that.

Get past Gulbis and it looks to me a resaonably clear road to the quarter finals. Gonzalez or Simon perhaps possible good matches there but I'd take Andy to wn there. Then my probably much greater concern is Del Potro ( ahead of Roddick ) who was transported into Nadal's place. I think there is much much more to come from that guy amd possibly even on grass. His 2nd round match with Hewitt may tell us a lot. Maybe it will tell us he is out since he can't cope with a seemingly bit rejuvenated Lleyton. But I predict he will get through that.

Let me speculate that Andy will win in 4 sets, and there will be a procession of posts on this board saying things like this:

"he was too passive, and really needs to step it up in the next round."

Dare I say that Andy's route to the final could open up very slightly - Hewitt leads Del Potro by 2 sets to love and it's great to see him rolling back the years.

certainly would look to help andy, although if JMDP were to lose to Hewitt, then it would be better if JDMP stayed in

I was on centre court yesterday for the third match. I'm ashamed to say I was glad Andy wasn't playing. The new seats are bigger, but still not quite enough room for the full complement of cushions, gin and cold flannel for the fevered brow etc.,

Too good from Hewitt. Don't see him getting to face Andy though as I'd suspect Roddick in the last eight would have too much for him if they both got their.

Del Potro was never really going to be a threat to Murray on a grass court though.

Murray breaks for *3-2.

Playing well so far, especially with the pace he's getting on the first serve.

Gulbis is making the errors as well so it's looking good for an easy passage to the 3rd round.

And looking further ahead, Gonzo has just dropped the 1st set to Leo Mayer, while Roddick needed four sets to see off Igor Kunitsyn (really Roddick, how bad are you playing...)

He trails *0-1 in the second.

That was an amazing set of tennis from Andy. He'll win Wimbledon if he keeps that up.
