Cohen, who once beat Anne (though it was 5-1 ret. and she has since lost to Cav 1 & 1) got through thanks to a retirement by top seed and former Wimbledon semi-finalist Alexandra Stevenson. Can Konta reach her second 25K Final this year?

Very impressive - she's now played four 25Ks this year and reached two finals!

In the last 12 months, el Tabakh (born in Egypt but plays for Canada) has beaten Curtis 0 & 3, Wobbly 4 & 4 and Broady 2 & 3, so the Final could be very tough.

Today's win will lift Johanna into the top 400 and if she were British already, she'd be the GB no. 10.

Pics of Johanna can be found at http://www.wowchallenger.com/Site/2009_Pictures.html and if anyone happens to be in Ontario, the Final (highlights, I assume) is on Rogers TV at 8 pm local time this evening.

This win will move 18-year-old Johanna up over 100 places to just outside (probably) the top 350. If she were already British, that would make her GB no. 9 above 19-year-old Naomi Broady, just 5 points behind top GB 19-year-old Jade Curtis - and she has only played half as many senior tournaments this year as those two.

That government minister who was so ready to criticise our players performance at Wimbledon should use whatever influence he has to naturalise Johanna ASAP.
