"THE flagship ATP Challenger Tour event has been axed from the Irish calendar for this year, but home tennis fans will still have the opportunity to run the rule over some quality overseas players this summer.

The challenger tournament, which doubled up as the Irish Open for the past three years, has, like many other projects, become a victim of the recession."





Such a shame. Would have been really nice if Roland Garros (or any other clay tourney) got cancelled due to recession.
