Good work from Willis and Cox to follow up their good results at Wimbledon last week, and a solid win for Illy who perhaps has finally got going this year now.
Would expect Cox and Willis to come through round two relatively easily as well and this could be a good week for the pair of them, with Willis looking at the semis here, while the same for Cox.
Disagree that it is good news that Kontinen rather than McClune won in round one. McClune is a player who seemed to have a lot of potential but has just done nothing in his senior career while Kontinen is a junior on the rise, and reached junior Wimbledon final last year, so it probably underranked at the moment. Still would expect Cox to beat him though.
That's nice and jammy for Meatball when it looked like he was going to have to face Ryderstedt. He's the highest-ranked player left in his quarter now because the no. 7 seed lost too.

Good wins for Marcus and Dan and they've got winnable quarter final matches now. Marcus has the easier task as Kontinen is a good junior, but I'd expect them both to come through.
Decent effort by Matt to get a set off Timo but just a shame he couldn't have continued the good form of the first set.
Illy lost to Timo in Glasgow early in the year in another close match. Illy lost it a bit back then due to the Timo getting ball after ball back to him. Timo is better than his ranking suggests IMO.
Thanks for reminding me that it's actually a 15K, Hoose!
That means 3 points for Meatball, making a net gain of 11 once you add in the Wimby QR2 points, which will take him up into the 730s (from 818 now) and 7 points for Cox, making a net gain of 15 with his Wimby QR2 points, tamking him up about 60 places to about 560. He's fast closing in on Eaton and Marray who will be about 536 and 523 after their Wimby and Dublin points come off.

The future must be the likes of Willis and Cox....honest hardworking pro's as they are I cannot see how Eaton/Marray and even Josh can really expect a life in the top 100 now ???
