Anne and Mel were both very poor, no excuses there. But they know that. Katie played a decent game, but her weaknesses are so obvious that she's going to get exploited by top 50 players; on this showing she was considerably superior to Mel, however. Georgie played great and hopefully can take some confidence away. Ironic that the two least-fancied players put up the best fight, really grinding out the points.
you all just supporting a bunch of losers. we cannot raise our game to finish a match but everybody else who plays us can and end up winning. Along with Robson they should havelet the teenagers have a go and N Cavaday.
Quick question: why come on a British tennis forum to say nothing constructive and just belittle British players and those who support them? We get your point, some British players have choked away matches, including some today, but it is not just a British thing: look at Mathilde Johansson at the French, or Amelie Mauresmo for most of her career, Jana Novotna, Anna Chakvetadze over the last 2 years....the list goes on. If you don't want to support our women, don't. However show some respect and take your trash talk elsewhere.

Thanks for your insightful comments..notice the word supporting...it means just that...supporting all those who are playing tennis for GB. What are we supposed to do just support the French cos they are doing well.
I agree most of the performances have been piss poor (South, Keothavong, and to a lesser extent Ward and Evans) but Robson, Goodall, Stoop all played above themselves.
Thank Christ we have Murray or it really would be depressing!
Pathetic from Anne once again at Wimbledon....she has been coming 9 years now and should be used to the pressure...the sooner Robson hits 17 the better
Look at all the pressure and expectation you all put on her (laura), she could so easily fail.
And havent you thought that maybe this just isnt her surface, coupled with all the pressure as for once she is the heavy favourite and the fact that she hasnt been playing well recently and she got DBd just a few weeks ago, this was probably the likely outcome. Wimbledon is only ONE tournament in the calendar, especially for anne now she is a DA into 90% of the tournaments and slams.
She may have a 1r-1r-1r run at slams this year but outside of them she has shown that she can be a great player on hard and even clay - she has amassed quite a few points this year but there are also places that she could improve on. Namely the slams and 2 of the mandatorie and from last year the whole HC season up until the USO. And that is her best surface.
So you know, yes she crumbled under the pressure and yes she shouldnt have, but shes still only new to having with pressure of beng expected to WIN not just compete, she's still a great player and has produced some great tennis this year as you can see from my HL videos. She'll be back!

Have I ever thought it is not her best surface - Yes but she is playing a clay-courter who has never played at Wimbledon before and plies her trade in Futures.
She is pitiful here every year it seems and having got the initiative at 5-3 she completely collapsed which for me is extremely worrying
Court one has finished it's schedule for the day and of the matches yet to begin, only one involves a seeded player, and that is Agnes Szavay, the 30th seed.
