Actually watching Maxi G beat Blake at the French i fancy he might not do too badly

It was Leo Mayer who beat Blake at the French, and reached the QFs at Eastbourne this week.

He's got Oscar Hernandez in round one, so he'll definately win a round

Though probably fair to say that there's not much in life with which Safin is enamoured.

True; perhaps I should have said "in the world of tennis".

I agree FD,  it's a very good draw.

I would have a minor concern about Gulbis, not because of his recent form which is pretty awful but just because the undoubted talent he has shown before and must presumably still be lieing there somewhere.  Still no way a Wimbledon contender should lose to a Gulbis even in his top form.

Safin of course is a reigning Wimbledon semi finalist on his favourite cow patch smile  but that I would agree was very much a one off.

If Andy gets to semis, I'd actually prefer that Rafa was in  the draw rather than Del Potro being transported into his place.  I know Del Potro has no real grass form but somehow I'd maybe prefer Roddick ( or Nadal ) to Del Potro.  Del Potro's time is coming, somewhere some time.

But essentially, realy cannot complain at all.

Lovely draw for Andy but no other British player will win a round.

Isnt Bagdhatis still injured? What would happen with his WC should he pull out? Im sure that happened at the French and they gave the WC to another Frenchie, any chance of that here?

Boggo vs Evo in 3R LOL

Assuming Boggo gets through that, I can see him being a handful for Roddick in the 4th round. And with Nadal injured, the Bogsta has every chance of making it through to play Andy in the semis.

LOL biggrin

He'll have to play to his best and hope that Davydenko is just here for the money to really have a good chance.

Good to see the official Wimbledon website so on the ball when discussing Andy's draw :

"Murray was a quarter-finalist here last year and a runner-up to Federer in the US Open. This will be his fifth Wimbledon and he comes into the tournament having won the title at Queen's to become the first British winner for 71 years."

It's his fourth Wimbledon guys. You do remember that he missed 2007 ?  disbelief.gif
