I hadn't had a problem searching players, and wondered what everybody was going on about. So I went into "players", then entered a name in the search box: got a little pop-up telling me to chose from the list. I've clicked everywhere and don't get a list!
However, I usually search players by clicking on their name in the rankings list, and that works fine. I assume they will fix these bugs sometime.
Often folk are very uncomfotable with change, we like what we are used to.
I didn't really like the previous ATP website change and then in time realised I did and it was really better.
Initially,I was like oh when I saw the latest and things were not where I expected to be like live scores etc, that you get by clicking on "live scores" amazingly enough lol., straight from the home page. I gave it a little time yesterday and things started to come together for me. I think you will find just about everything you had already is there, just in some other place maybe. I doubt it will take long to get used to.
I like going on and seeing some a few important instant match positions and results and the actual quicker more obvious ( once you know it ) access to the live scores and results, it really to me isn't at all bad.
There are indeed I think a few bugs, I am sure these will be sorted.
Give it a chance folk !

There are a few improvements, like seeing some live scores right on the home page (though that won't help that much unless thew match you're interested in is the exact match they have up there) but I can't see any redeeming feature about them changing the URLs so that links to pages from external sites don't work any more without putting in diverts, that's just plain stupid.
Also, while I agree that it's not good to dismiss changes as bad without giving them a chance, that doesn't mean that all change will end up being worthwhile either - e.g. the changes to the 'simplify' the ranking system are proving to be just as bad as those of us who analysed them around the turn of the year predicted they would be.

Steven, I do certainly appreciate that issues with URL links, particularly for folk like yourself, who provide so much helpful info, some it based on ATP website links, must be very annoying.
I thought more of that after I had written and I can understand that you feel it is a real issue and folk who use your info and the links will also find it a pain. I would hope they can do something, at least improving rediverts or it negates what I think are good changes. Folk like you need encouraged, not discouraged by issues like this.
But I was more commenting on the how the new pages themselvres looked and the more I look around ( I have too much time on my hands ) the more I actually like the look, the players pages for instance I certainly think are better.
Could do with updating some profile info or at least the players themselves helping get it changed. Andy's favourite surface for years has been err clay and his service his biggest weapon. To be fair, those particular points aren't quite as much of a joke as they were in the last 3 or 4 years, but still.....Anyway that rubbish has been on in the last 2 reincarnations, so is sort of by the way to the site look itself.
i think some of that stuff is up to the players themselves and they are just too lazy to update it. same reason boggo's page says Mike Raphael is still his coach!
