I seem to remember last year that not only did the 2 finalists get a QWC but so did the losing semi-finalists. Does anyone have a feel for whether that may happen again this year
Now thinking about it I'm sure that Chris Eaton was one of the losing semi finalists last year
Ward & Slabba recieved Wimbly qualies WC's last year but pulled out when they recieved Notts wild cards and Eaton and someone else who lost in the semis were awarded 'lucky loser' spots.
id rather have a mass wild card play off for the mass draw, 32 brits, from boggo downwards for 2 places in the wimbledon main draw. and then about 12 in qualifying.
QF: WILLIS, Marcus WR 826 v (2) Colin Fleming WR 494
Colin must be on cloud nine after his & Ken's win against the Bryans at Queen's this evening. I hope he can focus his mind on more mundane matters tomorrow - though it's a great pity his opponent has to be Marcus!
Do the two winners of the semi finals meet? I ask as there are two spots for wild cards from this and it cannot serve any purpose to play a final and then have someone who has just lost a match go on into qualies. I assume that we stop at the semi final stage????

It would appear that he's going to devote all his attention to Queen's - from the LTA site:
The men's event is through to the semi-final stage, with one more win required to seal a wild card.
Dan Smethurst, one of the in-form players, having recently reached a $10k final in Romania, once again came from behind to record a win, this time beating Nick Cavaday 6-7(4) 6-1 6-2.
The 18-year-old from Lancashire will now meet Welshman Josh Milton, the No. 3 seed, who defeated Neil Pauffley 6-4 6-4 in the last eight.
In the other half, Burnham Arlidge won a hard fought match against Alex Ward 7-5 3-6 6-4 to set up a semi-final clash with Marcus Willis.
Willis gained a walkover in the quarter final against Colin Fleming due to the Scot's commitments at Queen's Club, where he is through to the doubles quarter-final with Ken Skupski.
The 24 year-old, who made his debut for the AEGON GB Davis Cup team in March, teamed up with Skupski on Wednesday evening to record the best win of his career, beating American twins, Bob and Mike Bryan, 6-4 6-4.
Has anybody any idea whether he's still in with a chance of obtaining a singles WC on the strength of his exploits at Queen's, i.e. has the AELTC any leeway left or all the WCs now all spoken for?
