ahh, lack of nerve and experience telling in the end. still a great week which will give them losts of confidence and lessons going into future tour matches.
So close to a great win, but in the end, just not meant to be.
Had two match points on their serve though, and a minibreak up in the MTB, which has got to make the defeat worse knowing that it was in their own hands.
Don't know what happened on those match points because of the excellent BBC coverage but it's a shame that they did lose...maybe the pressure/nerves got to them or perhaps Kubot/Marach hit two stunning returns?
Hope they can carry on the good form in Eastbourne next week and get a nice first round draw to get them some ranking points.

I'm still livid that the bloody traitors at the Beeb promised us the opportunity to watch that match & never delivered! What a shower! I suppose we'll never know unless a tennis correspondent for one of the broadsheets gets an interview with them. When all is said & done, though, a good experience for them from which I imagine they'll learn. Well done, Col & Ken. You did us proud when all about you were found singularly wanting.
No. 5 seeds Lukasz Kubot of Poland and Oliver Marach of Austria saved three match points as they rallied past the British wild card team of Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski 5-7, 7-6(3), 10-7, to reach the semi-finals.
Skupski was serving at 5-4, 40-15 and he failed to convert one of his three match points. In the match tie-break Fleming-Skupski led 5-3 before Kubot and Marach came back to win seven of the final nine points in the one hour and 46-minute match.
Fleming and Skupski were making their ATP World Tour debut as a team this week, and neither player had won a tour-level match coming into the Queen's Club. They first partnered up last October and won three consecutive Futures titles and the Jersey Challenger in their first four outings. This season they have won one Challenger title in four finals as well as two Futures titles. They beat Romanians Andrei Pavel and Horia Tecau in the first round and No. 2 seeds Bob and Mike Bryan in the second round, both in straight sets.
I had to go out last night and set my DVD to record this on the understanding that the Beeb would show it! Let down again by Auntie. What I feel about that particular organisation would be by one of the mods.
DC Captain Lloyd did say he'd watched the match and it wasn't a case of Col & Ken dropping their standard, more that the POL/AUT combo had raised theirs.
A good experience for the guys and I'm sure it'll not be wasted on a pair as keen to succeed as they appear to be. Looking forward to seeing/hearing more of their triumphs in the future.
