Why are the LTA such a joke, they still have Mondays order of play up on ATP World Tour. Any news on when Muzza will be playing tomorrow?

I got the OOP no bother - I go into it from the ATP main site, I don't know if that makes any difference?

I wonder if argentiantennis.net is slagging off Eduardo Schwank today

No i dont think they will
he is a steady player, never going to be top 10 but has made a good career for himself, on is with out a doubt alienated on the grass, and wasnt a WC, he earnt his right to be there! not comparable to ward and goodall.

Not questioning that at all. In fact I completely agree.

But a WC system exists and if you are awarded one you have also earnt your place.

Goodall and Ward were at least competitive. Schwank completely gave up despite having the ability to push Hewitt further. I just think we have completely unrealistic expectations that grass court tennis suddenly makes Brits unbeatable and rankings differences immaterial

Thanks - will have to avoid it. Had enough of him yesterday would really love to wipe that smug smile of his face it does my head in.

Maybe someone could ask Roger Draper what he thinks of 8 Germans reaching the last 16 at Halle, and when in the future does he ever see 8 Britons reaching the last 16 at Queens ?

Never mind Queens.  How about GB F3?

You have to win 2 matches to reach the round of 16 at queens, onely one in Halle.

ha ha ha  biggrin

That's it, reduce Queens to a 32 man event and we'd have loads of Brits in the last 16  smile.  OK, so how many Brits won their first round match ?   You did give me a laugh though.

My point was that Halle is a reasonable standard ATP event and OK the German first round success may have been a bit extreme this year but it does highlight how far off the pace we are and how profoundly lacking in any sort of depth.

I appaud these who have made progress and all these who strive as hard as they can to be all they can be.  But we have one guy in the top 100, albeit near the very very top, and noone else threatening to get even into the top 100 in the immedaite future.

We all know that British men's tennis stands no comparison with French, Spanish, German or Italian men's tennis,  nor will it for some considerable time if ever.

But the whys and wherefores are a huge subject in themselves that have often been discussed in different threads in this forum.

Anyway, just thought the comparison was so stark.
