Steven, sure I'm missing the point here, but can you explain why Mel's only gaining the 3 points so far for these two weeks - hasn't she made 23 and lost 10? And hasn't Katie made 60 and lost 30? Is it because the points for the French have increased since last year or am I just very confused...thanks!
According to TBEs thread, bally is 113.

Mel's gained 8 points from Nottingham over Surbiton but RG will replace one of her results as it's mandatory. Therefore she'll lose her points from Kolkata.
Katie has only gained points from RG because neither last year's Surbiton nor this year's Nottingham are good enough to be in her best 16 reuslts.

TBE's calculation is more accurate - mine was just based on the number of points needed for each ranking position last year, as I said. I'm quite surprised the more accurate version has her lower, I must admit.
Thanks, jamatthews, for explaining my figures for Katie and Mel. You can see what I'm counting (or not) for each player at http://www.britishtennis.net/stats/ptdf.htm?n=1 - it usually only gets updated once a week, but because some players have two new sets of points to go on and some have two new sets coming off next Monday (both of which may or may not be couinting scores), I've been updating the best 16 lists as I go along in order to make sure my figures are accurate.
