I wonder where this form has come from - great to see though smile.gif

L16 Q1: (Q) Josh Goodall WR 217 beat Edouard Roger-Vasselin (FRA) WR 163 by 2-6 6-2 7-6(5) biggrin - Amritraj or the Gooch up next.

And of course that's the first time a Brit has beaten ERV in 9 attempts (Brits he has beaten include Boggo, Baker and Mackin) - another French SBB bites the dust biggrin

It's Amritraj.  He beat Gucci 7-6(5) 7-6(4), so that's the 7th seed out! biggrin

And for quicksilver's benefit, if he's "tuning in", Bubka beat Bops without hitting a ball:  Bops had to withdraw with a knee injury, so it was a walkover.

From the LTA site:

""I'm playing really well at the moment and I've come through a lot of close matches which is a huge confidence booster. I just want to keep it rolling and keep up the momentum at the moment," said Goodall.

Evo's conqueror Amritraj is at a career high WR 161. Josh and Prakash were doubles partners in Tallahassee in April, getting mashed by Booty and Lipsky in R1, and Josh won their only previous singles encounter 6-7(4) 6-4 6-3 on his way to the semis of the Mexico City Challenger just over a year ago.

Chris' match is apparently about to get under way.  Helki intends to watch it, so I'll be getting updates from time to time. wink

Elsewhere, Bozo has gone through by a walkover, so he lies in wait for Boggo, should he get past Dimitrov this afternoon.  Booty & Lipsky also have a walkover against Bops & Thomas, presumably because Bops is crocked.

Report from Colin on his site: http://www.colinflemingtennis.com/colinfleming/

Apparently his opponent had lucky net cords in the 1st set t/b and in the fional game of the 2nd set, though he's not blaming them for the loss.

He says that whether he and the Skupster win today will determine whether he can sign in for Queen's qualifying, so come on Aucks and Josh! wink (sorry!)

Helki's doing a good job. smile

Bozo, Boggo and Bops though - all we need is Bogomolov playing and we could get really confused.

Bozo going through by a w/o should give Boggo even more incentive to get through to the QFs - and not just so that he can play someone with an even more unfortunate nickname than his own!

Also, since Bozo was down to play Grosjean (typical of a GEM to withdraw after playing a Brit!), I wonder if Seba has pulled out to save himself for Queen's or if another WC is now going begging there ...

It's Aucks & Goodall actually!! I presume that the Queens wild cards are being decided tonight. It seems a bit strange that they couldn't give Colin a qualies wild card tonight and take it away from him if he wins his semi on Friday, with none of their potential opponents in the singles still that match could be put on early.

Excellent win from Josh today, simply suberb to win two matches in a row on a third set TB after being a set down both times. smile

Chris dropped his opening service game, had a chance to recover it in the seventh game, but couldn't take it, & eventually lost the set 2-6.  cry  Helki says he lacks forward and backward mobility. hmm
