i read through the thread on mtf and was getting angry with all the score beggars, made me remember why i came on here! the worst offender was a romanian who kept asking for the muller score, then after being told he lost he didnt believe it, and phoned up england to confirm, what a tw@t

"The score beggars"! I like the phrase and I know what you mean by it.

My pet hate on that site though is the "ra-ra" posts. Thinking there are new posts on a thread, I read through pages of people saying "Go on (insert name of there favourite player)". Nothing to say, report or discuss, just a "ra-ra" statement.

please to see boggo winning in straights.

interesting match up vs Dimi, dont forget who coaches him, lundi, and alex and peter got on very well (and they still keep in touch). Lundi knows alex game inside out and will surely pass on a lot of info on.

I'd forgotten about that until Sally mentioned it on AM.com last night. It's the kind of disadvantage Alex could do with out in a match which, for obvious reasons, is more important than most R2 Challenger matches for him.

Score Beggars biggrin.gif

as for the ra ra boys, they annoy me too, although i admit i occasionally throw a 'go boggo' in as i feel he gets a bit left out otherwise smile.gif

Yes Lundi was Alex's coach when he had that decent run at queens pushing A-rod and beating HT Lee & JB.

btw anyone find it odd that they waited until Wednesday to play alex's 1st rd match? have they not looked at the forecast? perhaps they struggle with court time, in which case they should split the ladies and mens events. keep one at surbs (the mens do they can do the surbs/queens shuffle if needed) and keep one

yes i was thinking that maybe they kept the last wildcard for queens unassigned incase either boggo or eaton are still in the tourney here and cant do the "surbs shuffle!"

That would be shockingly sensible. smile However, if I remember right, they didn't leave a free WC originally and it only arose because Nishikori pulled out, so this is an idea that has occurred to them late if at all. (i.e. I'm not convinced)

They should really do that for Wimbledon too, I think, i.e. hold back a main draw WC or two in case anyone who wasn't going to get one in the first place qualifies for Eastbourne so that players don't have to choose between playing Eastbourne and playing Wimbledon qualifying.

yes it obviously wasn't their initial plan, but would make sense to do that now surely.

of the players left at Notts Alex and Chris would be the main contenders, will possibly Mannarino be too (is he popular?)

i am not sure holding back a wimby WC for Eastbourne is ideal. i think players should know in advance so they can make the choice. is a dumb system, but its not our fault that the Greas season is so squashed.

True. The thing that makes it even more difficult is that Wimbledon qualifying starts on Monday - presumably so that they have time to cope with any rain delays. If it started on Tuesday (as at RG or the USO) or Wednesday (as at the AO), there would be a much higher chance of being able to sign in for Wimbledon qualifying if you went out in R1 or earlier at Eastbourne, while knowing that if you get through R1 at Eastbourne, it's probably just about worth missing Wimby qualifying for.
