Well done to Boggo for getting the win and coming through that tight looking first set, which probably ended up deciding the match.
Good to see him win his first match on grass and hopefully he can go further, although with it likely to be Dancevic in the next round, it may be tough for him to get any further, but with Dancevic struggling this year, he could get the win.
Would be interesting if Giovanni Lapentti could beat Dancevic and give Boggo a chance at playing him on grass given what has happened before when Lapentti has played British players on a grass court... could Boggo get revenge for Arvind Parmar for that infamous DC loss?
How would you feel about neither of those 2. Acording to OOP he's playing Dimitrov.
Some good wins there for the boys involved in the doubles. With three guys still left in the singles there's plenty to keep an eye on. I'd like Col & Ken to win but that might be asking too much too soon. Very pleased that JM has made a winning start here, only the top seeds to account for to reach the SF stage.
L32: (Q) Josh Goodall WR 217 beat Scoville Jenkins (USA) WR 209 by 6-7(4) 6-4 7-6(3) L32: (WC) Dan Evans WR 316 lost to Prakash Amritraj (IND) WR 161 by 6-2 3-6 6-2 L32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 196 beat (Q) Tatsuma Ito (JPN) WR 306 by 7-6(6) 6-2 L32: (WC) Dan Cox WR 632 lost to Sebastien Grosjean (FRA) WR 483 by 1 & 3 L32: (WC) Colin Fleming WR 497 lost to Brendan Evans (USA) WR 159 by 7-6(5) 7-5 L32: (WC) Chris Eaton WR 342 beat Kevin Anderson (USA) WR 146 by 6-4 4-6 7-6(4)
1st on Centre @ 11.00 BST. No. 1 seed Gilles Muller may be out, but his conqueror ERV is a former world no. 82 (2007) is on our serial Brit-bashers list with a career record against Brits of 8-0, his most prominent scalps being Boggo (albeit way back in 2002) and Jamie B in straight sets in R1 at Wimby 2 years ago. Perhaps slightly more encouraging is that he has gone 8 tournaments (7 Challengers + RG Q) without winning back to back matches, so one of those streaks of 8 has to go on Thursday.
L16 Q2: Alex Bogdanovic WR 196 v (LL) Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) WR 344
3rd on Centre. After beating Sean Thornley in QR1, 18-year-old Dimitrov lost a tight FQR match 7-5 in the 3rd to Josh Goodall. In fact, he is 5-2 against BRits overall, having easily beaten the Wardinator (twice), Milton and Greg Goodall in the last year or so but lost to Wardy. You'd hope that if Josh could beat him, Boggo would be able to too, but I guess Dimitrov may be finding his grass court feet if he won his match today - still don't know whether he beat Dancevic or Lapentti.
I won't bang on about Queen's WCs again ... (not yet anyway )
L16 Q3: (WC) Chris Eaton WR 342 v (4) Adrian Mannarino (FRA) WR 126
3rd on Court 3. Mannarino is 8-2 v Brits, having lost only to Bloomers and Aucks over the years.

Mystery finally solved courtesy of the combo sheet on the ATP site: Dimitrov in as a LL for Lapentti (*grrr*) & beat Dancevic by 6-4 4-6 6-3!
The combo sheet also supplies the missing Devvarman/Groth, Bozo/Gregorc & Bops/Kudryavtsev results. The first two must have lasted quite some time...!
That's a good win for Dimitrov against Dancevic and makes Goodall's win against him in qualifying look very good indeed.
Will be very interesting now against Bogdanovic tomorrow...if Boggo can beat him, then it would be good to see how the press react to the fact that a Queens WC has lost to two British players.
Could also be an unofficial play-off for a WC between them tomorrow - if Boggo wins, then it does his claim for a WC the power of good, while a win for Dimitrov would help his claims and probably diminish the chances of Boggo.
interesting match up vs Dimi, dont forget who coaches him, lundi, and alex and peter got on very well (and they still keep in touch). Lundi knows alex game inside out and will surely pass on a lot of info on.
