he can play Eastbourne qualifiers, but if he makes the MD then he wont be able to play Wimby Q, so its a tough trade-off.
its harsh that he misses out, but he really hasn't done that much since then, and he does throw in some awful loses every now and then. if he had found a way to more consistent, especially at futures level, then it may be a different story.

Cheers Count Zero for info on Eastbourne/ Wimby Q. I totally agree with you on the point on Chris's consistentcy and how he does have some real dire results, a great example of that being Fergana this year.(A big chance of points in weak challenger) But i think that with what he did at Wimbledon/Davis Cup, i think he has to live on the big stage which is fair play to him because the futures tour can be very boring i presume. This year on this surface, he has been wasted a big deal. At nottingham he took out Anderson ( a finalist of an ATP last year i think) on a big center court. Put onto a smaller a court against Mannarino he managed to push him close in the 2nd set but ended up losing. Both these player 200+ places above him, so a good achievement. I think that deserves a main draw in one of the tournaments this season, as i believe he can beat the Goodall (not taking away his great run at nots) and Bogdanovic who i cant see doing anything on the grass, but on the big stage which is where he has the chance to play well.
Chris might beat Boggo, but i wouldn't take it for granted. the same boggo that has beaten Karlvoic on grass and was a hawkeye replay away from having match point vs roddick on grass remember.
Unfortunately Chris's game is too one dimensional. if he is having an off day serving, or if his opponent is reading it and returning well, then there is not much else to back it up, and thats why he loses to these very low ranked guys, especially perhaps at low levels they see more S&V so it may be easier to deal with, how often do top 100 players see all out S&V attack, they dont so it will take them a while to get up to speed.
Also the grass season is so short and congested that you really cant survive any more on it.
edit: the fact that Chris can do so well on grass would mean that really he should go for wimby Q. i think he would have a good chance of making it through Eastbourne, which will probably have an odd q draw with a few MD players at wimby who didnt make the 81 cut off at Eastbourne and a few ranked really low, but then he misses out on Wimby where the rewards are so much higher.

Im not trying to get in an argument with Chris beating Bogdanovic, Im just saying as proven at the DC and at Wimby last year hes a dangerous player on the big stage on a fast court and has won matches there. So i think he deserves one- my point of view
