Boys & Girls: 45th Astrid Bowl, Belgium - Grade 1 (Week 21)

This event is as strong as many Grade As coming just before the French Open, and there has been a terrific result today for Oliver Golding, who has come through qualifying and claimed a first win at this level over a top 100 player. His reward is a crack at the world number 6

Sadly Hannah James has again withdrawn late, so must be a doubt for Paris.

Boys Singles R1 (L64)

(Q) Oliver Golding (GBR) d. Yasutaka Uchiyama (JPN) 6-2 1-6 6-2

R2

(3) Julien Uriguen (GUA) v (Q) Oliver Golding (GBR)

Girls singles R1

Jennifer Ren (GBR) v Eugenie Chapelle (BEL)
(LL) Sabrina Bamburac (GBR) v Jeanette Draeger (GER)
Lucy Brown (GBR) v Elke Lemmens (BEL)

There is a WebCam streaming from http://www.astrid-bowl.com/  but unfortunately the picture quality is not great and I cannot find an oop

Boys Singles R2

(3) Julen Uriguen (GUA) d. (Q) Oliver Golding (GBR) 6-4 3-6 6-2

A good effort against a top 10 Bollettieri student, and the points gained here should see Olly move to just inside 200
