R1: Vivek Shokeen (IND) defeated David Rice by 3-6 6-4 7-6(6) R1: Sean Thornley defeated Navdeep Singh (IND) by 1 & 0 R2: Sean Thornley vs (7) Malek Jaziri (TUN)
I found it (and Dr No's result) absolutely shokeen (that must have been used earlier in the thread) but I hope Sean will manage to be a Thorn in his next opponent's side and make the Jaz band of fans end up playing the blues ...
Jaziri is a former top 300 player (2006), though he's probably a bit over-ranked through spending much of his time on the North African circuit. He hasn't played a Brit since 2007, when he lost 1 & 4 to Matt Smith in Exmouth and his is on a 3 match Brit-bashed streak (Brewer & Lee as well as Smith) since beating Tom Burn, Naim Lalji and Mile Kasiri (all in 3 sets) in Southampton Challenger qualifying in 2005.

Am I mistaken, but I'm sure it was Malek Jaziri that beat Slabba last week? Has the great Steven got lazy in his research or has he blocked that horrible loss by Slabba out of his memory?
Either way, Jaziri reached the final last week so seems to be in some good form, so will probably have too much for Sean.
Oops! I thought Jaziri had played a Brit recently, but wasn't 100% sure and thought my mind must just be playing tricks on me at 2 am (my mind probably dismissed it as yet another abject loss for Slabba) and having just checked Jaziri and Slabba's records again, it appears that last week's results are missing on ITF, which is why I didn't pick it up there.
