I didn't think she played badly at all, if you forget the back to back dfs in game 4 of the 2nd set. Safina was just relentless out there, what can you do?

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
It just illustrates the gap between Safina, who is world number 1, and Anne, who is inside the top 50, and reminds us just how far Anne needs to improve if she is to move any higher up the rankings.
Her serve needs significant work, and whenever she missed the 1st serve, Safina basically had a free-hit on it, and unless that serve improves, she won't be able to make it any higher up the rankings.
Dinara was just better. It is such a shame after her good run in Warsaw that Anne wasn't allowed to do better. I guess in order to be more competitive she would have had to mix up the pace, but if that isn't "her game" then it could have resulted in the same result......oh well back to Blighty and on with the grass season!
