So she had a 5-1 lead, and had at least 2 set points that I saw, but still lost the set and match. Typical Katie match then. She really does have a problem.
She really would make an impressive case study. The same sort of mental problems happen on a longer time scale too...
She plays some really strong matches gets herself close to a top 100 spot and then as soon as she is in reach of that goal, here game falls apart and she drops back twenty or thirty spaces again.
Did Katie get to 5-1 because of what she did, or because of Rus? Well we won't know unless someone was there.
Did she get to the FQR by being a great clay-courter, no she had an easy draw. Up againt a very talented player more comfortable on the surface than her and she wasn't strong enough.
Loss is not suprising, the manner is, once again, very. At least she didn't lose 75, but I don't know how many more times we have to go through this before she makes concentrated efforts to sort it out.
Its all very well talking the talk, but does she genuinely believe she can do it and compete with the best, does she really now think she belongs on the big stage? Probably not. And there's no reason why she can't get past this, and motor on.
Its a nice points haul, better than expected, so a little boost before the grass.
Maybe she'll get a LL, but can't see her winning a round anyway
