So close and yet so far for Boggo - beforehand we would have been delighted with him getting a set out of this match, but given that he had a break twice in the final set, it seems a disappointment at the end.
If only he'd been able to hold on at 4-3, or had managed to get a second break at some point, he'd surely have done enough to get into the final round here, but as it is, it's another 2nd round defeat for him.
Hopefully he won't be too disheartened by this defeat and can recover in time for Nottingham.
i don't think we should get too down on Boggo over this. he didnt give up in the match but fought on and on till the end even though every service game was a struggle for him, thats all we can ask surely. yes is disappointing he got broken at the end, in fact Devvy broke him 7 times over the match! but Alex saved 15 bp's!!! that's impressive fighting.
Devvy is obviously pretty good at these tight situation, remember he broke his opponent serving for the match in the 1st rd.

Yes, I think you're right - serve isn't such a big advantage on clay (as evidenced by the fact that most of the games were very tight) and I don't think many of us would have picked Boggo to win even a set today.

Looks like we were right about Boggo not have a hope of qualifying with Daniel in his section, even if he had got through yesterday - Daniel just thrashed Devvy 0 & 1

yes looks very easy for Daniel. Alex said Somdev relied on chasing everything down. maybe after 2 long matches in the earlier rounds he had nothing left?
