No jumping on the bandwagon or me, i still think the ease Evo won Jersey with will be significant (even if he didn't thump Spadea like James did)

Still Boggo for me, although the recent inroads of Ward and Evans will hopefully mean both will bring him close.

I don't wanna jump on the bandwagon at all but I voted for Wardy because to be honest, Boggo's results are relatively sporadic and I can't see him staying top 200 by year's end unless he suddenly remembers how to play again properly. Dan's progress is good and I kinda think he might end up British number 3 but I'm thinking Wardy's claims of being top 100 have a firmer base now and here's hoping he backs it up now! It's a good start. Good title, good points. More of that and he'll be sorted.

Same for Dan. I think both of them can make it but I'm putting my money on Jamesy this year and Dan for next.

its really hard to tell, boggo is going through a poor patch, and has a lot to defend over the summer, but then at the end of the year has nothing to defend so may come back strongly. Wardy and Evans have certainly shown good results, but they need to back it up with more than 1 good week.

After considering the question some more I would still go for boggo here is why:

It is is interesting that Boggo has scored almost as many points this year as Wardy and Evo but without scoing more than 27 points in any one tournement, Whereas both ward and Evans sored 75 points for a challenger win (78 for ward). In short Boggo has been mroe consistent at challenger level. Boggo is as likely to have a challenger win as Evans or Ward and i think he will have more points overall to back it up.
I am by no means confidnet about this and in a way I hope boggo isn't number 2 because I can't see him being ranked any higher than any higher than about 170 so it will have meant neither of Evans or Ward has pushed on toward the top 100
Also Goodall should not be ruled out, he is quite a way behind at the moment but his latest run will give him confidence , and even Eaton is not out of the question as he is gaining some constency and if he has an excellent grass season with the help of some Wild Cards he may push on more.
Really can't see anyone else.

I know this has been posted already on other threads but this is how many points they have gained so far this year
Wardy 112
Evo 93
Boggo 90
Goodall 46
Flemming 35
Eaton 33
Cox 31
Bloomers 28
Marray 18
Slabba 14

I reakon it will finish behind Murray
1st Boggo
2nd Ward
3rd Goodall
4th Evo
5th Eaton
6th Flemming

I think Boggo will end the year as either still GB no. 2 or retired, but I wouldn't put money on either outcome. I think Wardy is currently the best of the rest (though I'm not convinced Bloomers or Marray couldn't be if they really put their mind to it, but I can't see them doing that now) and I disagree that he's a one-week wonder - he's performed well throughout his stint in N America, not just this last week. I think Fleming and Evo will finish higher than Goodall and Eaton, but both of the latter are still capable of surprising us, e.g. it's not beyind the realms of possibility that a good run plus increased confidence could produce the Josh who was the GB slam qualifying king not so long ago.

Um, then we might start to take your Eaton obsession seriously? confuse  You think he's going to draw Pashanki at Wimby again and Oscar Hernandez at Queen's do you? wink Anyway, points for the first two rounds at Queen's are no better than Challenger points, sadly.

would be surprised if that happened, Evans is still about 185 rankings pts behind Alex, even with Alex defending 58 pts between now and the end of Wimby that would still require Dan to pick up 130 points between now and then, on top of what ever he has to defend, and for Alex to pick up nothing. which i feel is quite unlikely

the most likey time for one of the 'young guns' to overtake Alex will be in the summer when Alex is defending a succession of good points hauls, inc a 120 block right after wimby from Granby challenger. i'd be (pleasantly) surprised if Alex can match last summers performaces so expect him to drop, and then will have to hope he can have a good end to the year.
