My theory: the LTA decided to launch a new "winners" initiative called "Let's prove we can win against anyone" week, but by mistake, they typed "lose" instead of "win" when they sent the email about it to all the players, and Chris and the girls here and in Japan think that if they don't do what the email says, they might lose their funding.

Well, have you got a better theory?!

More seriously, Natasha's scoreline looks a bit ominous, hope she's not badly hurt.

17-year-old Pipiya has been a top 80 junior. Her junior record against Brits is a 3-set loss to Stephanie Cornish in the Dubai ITF Final in 2006, a 1 & 6 loss to Tara Moore in US Open junior qualifying in 2007 and a 3-set win over Joanna Horne last year.
