why should a (non british) junior wimby champ get a MD WC at wimby? is that policy at all the slams?
a QWC ok.

I think the policy is that the junior champion should get a QWC, but over the last few years, Wimbledon have given a WC into the main draw for the defending junior champions.
De Bakker got one, as did Reid, while Young and Monfils were ranked high enough not to need a WC, while on the women's side, for the last 4 or 5 years, the junior champion has got a WC.
Based on this, the presumption would be the Wimbledon will continue the policy of giving a WC to the junior champion - of course, they may choose not to this year, but I would expect both Dimitrov and Laura Robson to get a main draw WC.
The people who run Roland Garros are very sensible: they actually showed some balls and turned down dimitrov for a wildcard!
Did he actually apply for a WC though?
Given that he's spent almost the whole, if not the whole of the clay season playing on hard courts, it seems that Dimitrov isn't comfortable on the clay yet, so it wouldn't make much sense for him to apply for a WC.
Laura will be able to take a MDWC, should she want to, though I feel like her team are very protective of her atm and might not want her to take it. Personally though, I would. Its a great experience and will help her see where her game needs to improve to make it higher in the womens ranking.
Dan Evans would be my top choice, easily, considering his potential. I would expect to see him at Queens.

I'm afraid I'm with Laura's team on this one, I don't think MDWC at Queens would be the right thing for her at all

hmm, could be Evo's performance last year counted against him? But Josh has not done much this year to deserve one (aside from 1 decent run at Izmir) and threw in a fairly poor DC performance too, Boggo has doubled Josh's YTD points.
i'd have much preferred the 2nd WC going to Evans, possibly if the 3rd came available due to Nishi's withdrawal then i guess josh should get it.

Paul Annacone, LTA Head Coach of Mens Tennis, said: "The AEGON Championships has a very strong entry list this year and awarding wildcards to James Goodall and Josh Ward gives them an opportunity to play in a high level event, testing themselves against top players on a surface they feel comfortable on.
so did Paul really say that, did the lta type that, and why did no one spot it?

Probably bodes well for Evans getting a wildcard for Wimbledon - it could have been over-generous to give him WCs to Wimbledon and Queens, given his ranking and last year's showing.
