Robredo leads the head-to-head 2-1 (he beat Andy in the last 32 in Las Vegas in 2006 & in the Metz final in 2007), but Andy has the last laugh so far, having beaten Tommy in the last 32 at Indian Wells on his way to the final earlier this year. Ain't gonna be easy on clay, though...
Andy's win the last time out has a bit of an asterisk, though; ok, it counts as such, but Robredo retired at 6-2 3-0, so presumably he had a problem. (I watched that match but I'm blowed if I can remember anything about it!)
Andy said after the last match that he copied Rafa by standing way back and then came in when the confidence grew...well he may have to play as well as rafa to win this.
I'm fated this week. I have a doctor's appointment at 11.30, the only time of the day I have to be out. At least I'll be at home to start recording the livestream (as long as the ladies match beforehand doesn't run too late), and should catch the end of the match live, hopefully.
i don't half feel lucky i'm on study leave this week so i can enjoy all the tennis.
Same here - no more lectures this week so got the whole day to watch tennis/do my portfolio...
Early start for Murray isn't ideal for him, and to be honest, makes me more inclined to believe that Robredo is going to beat him - he hasn't looked great this week, but Tommy is the better clay-courter of the two and really should have enough to come through.
