I don't think anyone is based in Bahamas all year round. Mind you, half the players are not based anywhere for a large chunk of the year.

Yes, I'm sure Dubai is convenient for European tournies - its tax regime is obviously a great attraction.

Not sure many women are based there though?

Sorry, give me Andy and Rafa and in fact anyone who does not do this over those that nominally "live" in tax havens.

Kyle did mention a year or two ago that there had been an issue with not having appropriate practice partners in the Bahamas. It's mentioned somewhere on the forum. And I did think at the time - "duh".

So lack of other players around was clearly a problem for him, at least at times when he was there.

Well, that's one reason to steer well clear !

Andy has a family which probably dictates more where he resides permanantly, same with Roger and it's a lot easier to train all year in Majorca than it is in Birmingham.  With so many tennis players there you would think they would get their act together re drug testing, Roger Federer says he has never been tested while he has been in Dubai. Re the Bahamas thing, didn't Kyle suggest that a big problem was the lack of hitting partners there.

While in some ways I agree, it can be a lifestyle choice as much, if not more than a moral choice.

100%

And Joko too.

Who was very clear that she'd rather pay her tax and be able to go 'home' whenever she wished and not have to count days and work out if she had any spare, just to nip home.

 Roger has a family...

A few Aussies were in the Bahamas.

 We're talking fiscal residence here.

But Roger, of course, is pretty fortunate - I believe he's in a nice little tax friendly canton in Switzerland

"Sa résidence fiscale se trouve, elle, à Wollerau, dans le canton de Schwytz, réputé pour sa taxation douce, où vivent les pilotes de F1 Massa et Räikkönen".

So Dan finished 2021 as GB#2.

His points were accrued from 6 different tournament types, from Grand Slams to Challenger events and everything in between, the most diverse range amongst the Top 10 players.  Of his year end tally of 1942 points, 315 came from GS tournaments, the highest amount earned by a male player. His 2021, was tale of two halves; an abundance of points were gathered in the first half, while the 2nd half of the year was pretty barren.

Dan hasnt entered any event post AO yet, unusual for him - perhaps he is going for a training block pre hitting the US and missing the European indoor events etc?

I think Cam is also missing and Andy, perhaps all taking the same strategy - Andy will be close to direct entry now

Cam should be playing Rotterdam (ATP500) and Delray Beach (ATP250)
