Wow, this is unexpected, a proper article on the BBC which includes virtually everything * keels over * biggrin

Cmon Steven that article is at least 30 mins old and your 3 mins late behind my post above...where you 'out on the town' last night LOL !
LOL oh dear, my standards are slipping aren't they ... no, just trying to get a few work things done before sloping off to Wimby later on. I got a front row 'restricted view' seat when they put them on sale last week - I'm intrigued as to what's restricted about the view when they're right round beside the royal box and hoping it means something like only seeing the backs of the singers rather than there being a restricted view of the tennis.

There's also a similar article with a picture at http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20090517/ARTICLE/905171060/2050/SPORTS?Title=Ward-outlasts-Ball-in-Sarasota-Open-final

What a busy bee you've been on our behalf, Steven! smile  thumbsup.gif  In spite of all the Grauniad-style typos (just how does one "waive" a Union Jack? confuse ) & the fact that it refers to Ball when it clearly meant Ward, the Herald Tribune piece is considerably less cringe-worthy than the Bradenton Herald offering! wink

fantastic result - well done.

apologies if already been said but has this result and form last couple of weeks been a coincidence of the wimbledon wild card announcement or not?

Last player to win seven matches in a row on clay was apparently Andy Murray at a 2004 Spanish Futures

i found a very reliable source :

http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=61841&p=3&topicID=17293880&page=1

so three qualies rounds plus four wins to the final is seven consecutive wins on clay!

Fairly unflattering photo of James on the Herald site but the one on him on the LTA site isn't a huge amount better poor lad.

Love that the Herald had to explain what 'knackered' meant!

There doesn't appear to be anything on their site about a video. (Steven:  Was the website you emailed called 'Hurricane Tennis Academy?).  Ill email them about it..
