Carreras out of Israel, maybe she's been in contact with the LTA and got a qualies wild card for Notts, I wonder if she will do the wild card play-off as well.
Ward, Illingworth and Pritchard withdrawn from Spain. Feaver in main draw in Romania, Blake and Bains in the main draw in Tunisia, Baker in the main draw in Slovenia. Wigan in the main draw in Portugal.

Based on the LTA's stated policy, she should get a Wimby qualifying WC 'by right' (if a WC can ever be something you get 'by right'!) now she's in the top 500.

What Roger Draper wrote was clearly just with the men in mind. He looked at the rankings and saw there was 6 men in the 250-500 bracket so just said all those in that mark get a QWC plus two from the play-off. It's all part of the LTA make it up as you go along policy.
Our top 5 women will be all in the main draw, whether by DA or WC. After her winners points from last week are added on she will be the GB #12, so with only 6 QWC's given out (plus two from the play-off) she will miss out. It would not be possible to give wild cards to all GB players in the 250-500 range considering there are 9 of them (although it is concievable Laura will get a MD WC) currently.
True, that's a good point, though you'd think as a young up and coming player who's clearly in form, she might go to near the top of the 'queue'.
Edit: admittedly, all of the nine players you mention except Emily and Sarah are 20 or under and 16-year-old Tara Moore is only 4 places off the top 500 too.

The AEGON Trophy (notts Challenger) will also welcome some of Britains best players hoping to make a good start to the grass court season. In the mens draw, Alex Bogdanovic, Josh Goodall and James Ward will lead the British charge
so does that mean these 3 will get the WC's if the rankings dont get them in. or is that statement taken to include qualies too?

Is it 4 or 5 wildcards for Nottingham? I'd expect them to all go to Brits unless someone like Grosjean asks for one. These are my picks: Boggo Goodall Ward Evans (Eaton/Grosjean)
I thought it was 4. Baghdatis had one (at Surbiton) last year, there's always the possibility of someone of that standing asking for one. You would have thought James Ward would merit one at the moment more than any other Brit.
Beyond that the LTA have shown an inclination to go for the more junior players lately with wild cards. Evans or Cox maybe? Who can tell, its always a good game guessing
